9. The cross through Mary

Mary became pregnant through the Holy Spirit. In the temple with Joseph and the newborn, Mary was told that "a sword will go through your soul, so that the innermost thoughts of many will be revealed". Mary eventually saw her child die on a cross. Again, blood is seen on her heel. But the child would be resurrected from the dead, to bring everyone to justice one day. To bear one's cross like Mary is to endure the suffering of the world and of life in the hope of Christ. In Hilma, the red seems to express the love of God, agape, the pink the love of Christ. Man is both body and spirit W and U. The circles are circled in yellow and blue. Five roses have the wreath on their heads, five are Christ's wound marks.
