10. Joseph and Mary

The dove is the classic Christian symbol of the Spirit. In the body of the dove, Joseph, Mary and the baby Jesus are drawn. Joseph and Mary are painted in yellow and blue. The Spirit gave life to Mary and Joseph. The Spirit comes down from heaven, gently released from God's hands. The wings of the dove, however, are damaged. The Son and the Spirit are one with each other in Christian faith. As the son of Joseph and Mary grows up and eventually suffers on the cross, the image seems to tell us that when the Son of God suffers, so does the Spirit.
