The second painting in the Duvan series has the same motif as the first, but here without the spiral of time. We are on the sixth day when God planted Eden; an image of time without time; of eternity in paradise. Here depicted in the colors of the rainbow. Only when man is thrown out of paradise does he become aware of time, of life and death, and of his longing to return to God and eternity, symbolized in the middle of the picture by Hilma's shroud. The way there is painted in Hilma as a heart in white and red, truth and love. It is formed starting with two strings from the paradise that Adam and Eve had to leave. But Adam and Eve will one day meet to become one again *

In the first image, the circumference of the circle represented the final 42 years of the spiral of time leading up to the Year Zero.The circle itself symbolized the onset of the Christian Year Zero, with the background of the spiral fading into gold. From those 42 years ,6×6×6 Jewish lunar cycles were counted backward to Adam’s birth, in accordance with Hilma and biblical chronology. Perhaps Hilma intended to reverse the chronological order in this second image. Until Adam turns 42, he and Eve live together in eternity. Then they are banished from Eden. 6×6×6 Jewish lunar cycles remain until the year zero. The total of the biblical chronology comes to 4,146 years.  

The circle above can now tell us about the beginning of the sixth day , when God planted Eden. There, He eventually placed Adam. The Bible does not specify any dates for this, only the year of Adam’s birth. The circle and its circumference, as well as the number 360 (years)—the number of eternity—can thus simultaneously symbolize both the year zero of Eden and the Christian year zero. From one year zero to another. First, 360 years pass in eternity, whereupon Adam (then 42 years old) and Eve are cast out into time—into the sun and moon— with 6×6×6 Jewish lunar cycles remaining until Christ and the year zero. To Him who is the Alpha and the Omega. 

360 years plus 6×6×6 lunar cycles— the time of love and the time of sin. God’s time and humanity’s. That is one way Hilma’s paintings could be interpreted.

The Jewish calendar is based on the fact that 235 lunar cycles equal 19 (solar) years—one lunar cycle. Starting from the supposed Year Zero in Eden (4,465 B.C.), there are 360 years plus 6×6×6 lunar cycles, which together equal 235 lunar cycles to the year zero/one. Thus, the same number of lunar cycles have elapsed as there are lunar revolutions (235) in onelunar cycle (19 years).Time has completed its course. Another 108 lunar cycles bring us to the year 2052. By then, a total of 7×7×7 lunar cycles will have passed since God planted the tree in Eden. Perhaps this is the secret!

Like a seed in paradise, Adam and Eve (yellow and blue) are depicted at the entrance to paradise. They are allowed to leave eternity and Eden when 360 years have passed, when they have eaten of the fruit of knowledge. The chronology then gives Adam an age of 42 years. Seven times six. Six stands for sin and evil in the Bible, seven stands for fulfillment. There are now four times 666 years left until the Exodus from Egypt and 6*6*6 lunar cycles until the zero year and the Kingdom of God.

The symbolic Year Zero of Eden at the turn of the year 4,465 B.C. can also be counted within Hilma’s 144-year periods: 7+7+7 periods until the Exodus from Egypt in 1440 B.C. and another 10 periods until Year Zero. A total of 31periods of 144 years. God gave the Jews a new calendar in connection with the Exodus. Year Zero became the equivalent of the Christian calendar. From Year Zero to Year Zero. From Moses to Christ.

As a Christian, Hilma hardly doubted that the year zero and the Christian era were God’s work. But the question is whether there is support for this idea in the Bible. It’s probably time for a deep dive into the Prophets and the Book of Revelation! In chapters eleven, twelve, and thirteen, the number of sin appears in the form of both 666 and 42. And hidden within the phrase “a time, times, and half a time” are both the numbers 42 and 360. A follow-up and update are coming!
