What do the prophets say

In the Old Testament, the numbers seven and twelve have a strong symbolic value in many different contexts, twelve as God's order on earth and seven as completion. The highest number they can form is seven multiplied by itself twelve times (7 12 ) which in number of years is the exact age of the Universe 13.8 billion. In the New Testament and the Book of Revelation there are 'numbers of men and angels ' - 144. A year in which every second is 144 years is the age of the Earth - 4.54 billion years. In Hilma's Bible chronology, time is divided into 144 year periods, from Adam to Christ and the new man in the Kingdom of God.

"Who is she that shines like the morning blush, fair as the white moon, perfect as the hot sun, terrifying as the army of stars." (Song of Songs)

In the last days, signs would appear in the sun, moon and stars according to Jesus. In the last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation, in its twelfth and thirteenth chapters, a 'great sign' is initially presented - a pregnant woman with the attributes of time - with the sun and moon as her clothing. Portrayed almost as a cosmic queen of the heavens, she wears on her head the garland of twelve stars of time. In the two chapters, the fate of the world then seems to be described in biblical images, from the Serpent/Satan in the paradise of Eden, to the desert wandering of the Jews, to Mary, the mother of Jesus and Herod - the beast that wanted to devour the child - and to Christ and the Christian congregation and further to the evil, the number symbol of man - 666.

Since the story was written, the image of the beast and this vision of Mary have been portrayed in tens of thousands of churches around the world. The inspired and enigmatic text has been interpreted by the Church in various ways throughout the ages. What is clear, however, is that the Heavenly Mother, with its many allusions, represents both time and space, both Jesus' mother Mary at the time around the year zero, and historical Israel. The beast and its number become an image of the world kingdom that oppressed Israel. Can the Bible's numbermysticism and chronology give us keys to a wider understanding of this vision?

There is an interpretation of this sign that has been widely accepted. In this interpretation, the sun and the moon allude to two covenants and two eras of time. God's covenant with Israel and the Christian community- 'the children of Isaac'. Time measured by the moon and sun respectively. The latter became mandatory in the Roman Empire around the year zero. The twelve stars would then correspond to the twelve tribes of Israel and Jesus' twelve apostles. Later in the book, in the description of the wall of the Holy Jerusalem, its gates and foundation stones are named after the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve apostles of Jesus.

Hilma refers to the Christian church as 'the seed of Isaac' perhaps inspired by St. Paul. In Galatians (chapter 4), he makes a breathtaking comparison for his time when he claims that God's covenant with the Jews has made many of his countrymen slaves under the Law, and children of Hagar, the slave woman who was the mother of Ishmael, Abraham's first son. The Church of Jesus, on the other hand, was the child of Isaac and freedom, the child of promise also given to Abraham according to St. Paul. The woman of the sun and the moon gives birth to Christ and the Church, but thereby also becomes the mother of the New Jerusalem. Paul and John mirror each other in the symbolism.

Moon and sun, Ishmael and Isaac. Two calendars. The former is born in 2052 BC in Hilma's and the Bible's chronology. From there, in the Jewish calendar, there are 6*6*6 lunar cycles until 2052 AD. Is this the time of Ishmael and Isaac? Is it a coincidence that the end of this era happens to coincide with the signs in the sun and moon in 2052 AD? If so, what does this sign of Ishmael and Isaac tell us? The year zero and the symbolism of eternity then also take center stage, right between the beginning and the end. I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord, the beginning and the end of time.

But who cares about the symbolism of biblical chronology, and about its secrets related to historical and perhaps future events. Hardly anyone, despite the fact that the Bible itself is full of number mysticism and prophecy. In chapter twelve there is the expression time, two times and half a time. It is also usually written as three and a half times, i.e. half of seven times. In the book of Daniel this occurs in several places, but then as seven prophetic times. In the twelfth chapter of John, however, the Bible seems to be approaching an answer, providing a solution to how this mythical expression should be interpreted. In the text, time, two times and a half, seems to be made equivalent to 1260 days. This gives 360 + 720 + 180, the sum of which is 1260.

The number 360 - time - was associated with the perfect year and the circle, and eternity. Here now also with God and his time - kairos. Seven times in Daniel could thus be interpreted as 7*360 days or years. Several attempts have been made by different denominations and churches to insert these 2 520 days/years into a historical context.

Using Hilma's Bible Chronology and Bible 2000, seven times are counted between the year of the Flood and the appearance/death of Jesus in 30. Noah was given the rainbow as a covenant sign by God. From a heavenly perspective, it appears to have seven rings. Seven times 360 years before God descended to earth as man according to Christian belief.

At the time of the Exodus from Egypt, God gave Israel new festivals and a new way of counting time. From the year of the Exodus are four times, 4*360 years to the zero year and the new current Christian counting of time. These 1440 years are the same as 10 * 144 years. The perfect number (10) together with the measure of men and angels (144). When Jesus appears in the year 30, it marks the beginning of the 30th 144 year period since the birth of Adam. In Jewish number mysticism, the number 30 represents wisdom, maturity and spirituality. Year 30 plus the 30th 144 year period leads to year 174 when also four times 666 years have passed since the Flood.

The last 144 years coincide with the first difficult period of the Church and the Congregation up to the time of the Church Father Ireneaus, the compiler of the four Gospels. In total, there are now 12*360 years, twelve times since the birth of Adam. The Queen of Heaven symbolized by the wreath(360) with 12 stars may represent the time up to the year 174. The end of the twelfth chapter is usually interpreted as God's promise to protect his church, 'those who have the testimony of Jesus' as it says in the text.

From the Exodus from Egypt to year zero 4 * 360 years Totality of 'time'

From the Flood to Jesus year 30 7 * 360 years Completion of 'time'

From Adam to the four Gospels 12 * 360 years Order of 'time'

If we continue to count ten periods of 174 years from the year 174, we reach the year 1914. This year has often been claimed to fulfill a prophecy of Jesus from the Gospel of Luke, in the same chapter in which he speaks of signs in the sun and moon:

"When you hear of war and unrest, do not lose your temper. This must happen first, but it is not yet the end. And he said to them, 'People will rise against people and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes and pestilences and famines in one place after another. Terrible things will happen and great signs will appear in the sky"

The world wars were fought by countries originally belonging to the Roman Empire. In the thirteenth chapter of John, this empire rises from the sea in the form of a beast with seven heads and ten horns with crowns and blasphemous names. The beast resembled a leopard, its feet like a bear's and its mouth like a lion's. These images are related in reverse order to the kingdoms in the Book of Daniel, all of which have dominated Israel and its environs. The symbolism surrounding them is the same as in Daniel. Rome, Greece, Medo-Persia and the Babylonian Empire can be identified here, and the history of Europe is still deeply influenced by them.                      Image from the NIV Study Bible, 1995

The prophet Daniel (ch. 2) also had to interpret a dream that King Nebuchadnezzar had about a statue in which these kingdoms appear, and in the order in which they appear on the historical record. The statue's head (Babylon), chest and arms (Medo-Persia), abdomen and hips (Greece) and legs (East and West Rome). The ten toes represented minor kingdoms according to Daniel, kingdoms that originated in the fall of Rome. Perhaps an image of the Europe that eventually emerges. This interpretation is found in several of the major denominations and churches.

Starting with the fall of Nineveh and Assyria, and the rise of Babylon in 612 BC, the symbolic number of the beast can be used to count four times - 666 years for each kingdom in the statue until 2052. If you then want to represent the other three heads of the biblical beast, Assyria, Egypt and the kingdom of Nimrod, the latter mentioned in the Book of Genesis as the first world kingdom on earth (it was at the time of the construction of the Tower of Babel). Then, from 612 BC, you can count backwards three times 666 years to the year when God decides to let the river flood the earth. From there it is seven times 666 years to the sign in the sun and moon, to the consummation (7) in 2052. In this way, the beginning and end of the two chapters twelve and thirteen of Revelation can be linked.

In 174 AD the 30th 144 year period was completed according to the Bible and Hilma's chronology. If you continue to count ten 174-year periods, you reach the year 1914, when the various kingdoms of the beast are heading towards the time of the world wars. By then, 26 periods of 174 years have also passed since God'sdecision to destroy everything and everyone except Noah and his family. Their grandchildren built the Tower of Babel and created the First World Kingdom. The number 26 is, in Jewish numerical mysticism, the number of God's name.

Returning to Ishmael, and in accordance with both Jewish and Muslim tradition, which states that Ishmael is the progenitor of the Arabs, four times 666 years can be counted again, now from the birth of Ishmael until 612 AD. Then the Prophet Mohammed appears in public. Four more times (4*360 years) until 2052/3 when the last of four total solar eclipses will center around Mecca and Medina. Or four times from the birth of Ishmael to the rise of Babylon in 612 BC and perhaps four times 666 years to its fall? Are we now living in the time of the Great Babylon, the one that Revelation says will fall in just one hour? In the next section, we hear from the prophet Daniel.

Daniel's prophecy about the world tree

King Nebuchadnezzar II carried out God's judgment on the kingdom of Judah when the Lord allowed him to take Jerusalem. As king of Babel, or Babylon, as it is translated from the Greek, he briefly became an instrument in the hands of God in the 5th century BC before Babel was taken by the Persians. The Great Babylon, the economic world order that rules the world today, is perhaps also destined to go down, just as Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar's empire eventually did. Chapter 18 of Revelation paints the picture of the fall of the Great Babylon as the beginning of the apocalypse and the events of the last days. Here we seek support for the idea that the signs in the sky in 2052 are not just the work of chance, but a sign for our own time.

Through his prophet Jeremiah, the Lord calls on the Jewish people and all the surrounding peoples to submit to Nebuchadnezzar and Babylonia for 70 years (Jeremiah 25:29). God assures Jeremiah that behind this remarkable decision is his wisdom and his care for his people.

In 609/608 BC, when Jehoiakim had become king of Judah, Jeremiah heard the Lord say:

I am the one who has made the earth with my great power and with uplifted arm, and I give it to whom I will. Now I am giving all these lands to my servant Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon (Jeremiah 27).

Historical sources show that Nebuchadnezzar becomes crown prince and military commander at this very time. 70 years later, the Babylonian 'world empire' he became king of dissolves. In Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar appears as a great and mighty king on the verge of the megalomania that has always afflicted men of power (Daniel chapter four). He saw himself as a divine world ruler!
After a shocking dream of a chopped down world tree, Nebuchadnezzar lets his Jewish prisoner, the prophet Daniel, interpret the dream. He then conjures up the image of the greatness and final fall of the Babylonian empire. The dream also shows how this world empire will perish but also rise again when seven times have passed according to Daniel. (Daniel chapter four)

There is a tradition among several Christian churches and denominations that the world tree, the resurrected Babylon, will precede the end of time and the return of the Messiah. The tree as a symbol of both prosperity and misfortune, as the tree of knowledge for good and evil. After 70 years, Babylon was overthrown. It has then been assumed that the seven times of the dream would correspond, not only to seven times 360 days, but also to as many years (2,520) as the time of Babylon's waiting for resurrection. This whole story would thus be future-oriented. A prophecy of the Babylon that the world today is about to raise up! A global equivalent of Nebuchadnezzar's reign.

2 520 years of waiting for a new Babylon after the collapse of Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom. According to historians, the collapse of the kingdom appears to have been very unexpected and sudden, as 'overnight' according to Daniel. In an eerie continuation of the narrative around the world tree, Daniel also tells of this end. Nebuchadnezzar's 'son' Belshazzar is now on site. Nebuchadnezzar himself has been dead for some time. During a feast using vessels and cups stolen by Nebuchadnezzar from the temple in Jerusalem, Belshazzar sees an invisible hand writing on the wall: MENE TEKEL. None of his courtiers or seers can decipher the writing, so Daniel is called in. Daniel deciphers the words, and proclaims that Belshazzar's wickedness and contempt for God have become his judgment. The unknown words: MENE TEKEL were interpreted by Daniel so that the kingdom will be overthrown after being weighed on the scales and found too light. That same night Belshazzar was murdered and the Persian Empire took Babylon. The year is 539/8 BC. The promised 70 years had come to an end.

Today the tower of Babel is being rebuilt, and it too will fall to the cheers of angels and the cries of merchants. "Overthrown is the great Babylon" say the angels in Revelation 18. Counting from the year when historical Babylon falls, and seven times, 2,520 years ahead, we end up in the year 1982/3. That leaves 70 years until 2052! This interpretation of Babel's future history thus means that the Babylonian world empire has been re-established, and that it will again dominate the world with growing power for 70 years, so that man will finally "realize that the Most High rules over the kingdoms of men and gives them to whomever he wishes" (Daniel 4:14).

ASCII code - a new language

The common language of mankind has once again become a tool and a prerequisite for building Babel. Around 1982/3, computers began their triumphal march through the world. It is now that IBM's personal computer and Microsoft with its Ms-Dos are being launched on a broad front. This year, the New York Times named the personal computer 'personality of the year'. For the first time, a flesh-and-blood human being is not being elected. Now is the time for revolution, for the Internet.

A new tower, a new world empire based on the power and arrogance of money and knowledge. On the seven-headed Beast of Revelation rides the Babylonian harlot. A secret is written on her forehead - her name, the great Babylon. In Hebrew it could be written as the great Babel. Perhaps the end of the Bible will be like its beginning. The Tower of Babel will be built and torn down again. Its foundation stones are built in ASCII code

We have only seen the outlines of the power and potential of this last world country, but its own world language is founded on this code, the American Standard Codefor Information Interchange. Today, all language barriers are breaking down. Every keystroke on a computer corresponds to a number converted into zeros and ones. This is why all major languages and texts can now be instantly translated into each other with a simple click of the mouse.
Man's knowledge has led him to a world of infinite possibilities, but also to terrifying risks. Power and the means of control in the name of freedom can lead more than astray. History has taught us this. Today, it is more than just individual nations that can be toppled, an entire world lies open to the men and women of power. An entire world can be led into the abyss in the name of consumerism, in the name of Mammon. With the approaching environmental crisis that almost all scientists are waiting for, the cries of a whole world for strong leadership will soon be heard.

The language has become one via the ASCII code. We are back at the beginning of the Bible when people spoke the same language. This means that an ancient method with roots in ancient Babylon can be used to interpret words and numbers. By adding the ordinal numbers of the letters of the alphabet in a word, you get a numerical sum to interpret. In the ASCII code, the capital letters A, B, C ...65, 66, 67... etc. If you play with the words in today's world language and write THE BIG BABEL, the number sum is 777 - three sevens where seven in the Bible stands for completion. Here referring to the end of the building of the tower, the economic world order, which is spoken of in the Book of Revelation according to many. This is preceded by descriptions of how seven seals are broken, seven trumpets sounded over the world, and seven bowls of wrath are emptied. There the Lord says that: I am A&O - A&O gives 144 in the ASCII code, the speech of men and angels. If you write the name that the prophets associated with him, DAVID, you get the circle and the number of eternity 360 - the "time" of the Bible.

You find what you are looking for. The question is, however, whether chance applies when you type MENE TEKEL in the ASCII code - and get 666 - the number of the beast. Or you type the sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet three times - w.w.w. - 6.6.6. The words of the Bible encourage further attempts at interpretation.

"He that hath understanding shall interpret the number of the Beast: for it is the number of man, and the number is 666."

Ezekiel's prophecy

In 598 BC, Jerusalem was besieged and captured by King Nebuchadnezzar. The treasures of the Temple were taken to Babylon, as were the prophets and wise men of Judah. This was the beginning of God's judgment on the Kingdom of Judah according to the Bible. Several years and attacks followed which finally destroyed the city, the temple and the kingdom. Babylon had to execute God's judgment.

Based on this siege, the prophet Ezekiel was told by the Lord to portray Israel's sin by bearing Israel's guilt for 390 days, and bearing Judah's guilt for 40 days. Each day would correspond to a year according to the Lord. (Ezekiel chapter 4). A total of 430 years of the people's sins. Counting backwards from 598 B.C. takes us to 1028 B.C. and the initial events of that year, which are also recorded in the Bible. Ezekiel would then complete this picture by turning towards Jerusalem with his arm raised and prophesying.

The sins of the people continued, as did their hardships and sufferings. From the time of the siege, 430 years later, we come to 168 BC, when the Greek usurper Antiochus Epiphanes laid siege to Jerusalem, and severely oppressed and insulted the Jews. Two books of the Bible recount the harrowing events of this time. When a total of seven periods of 430 years have passed since the beginning (1028 B.C.), we arrive at the year of the rebirth of the great Babylon in 1982/3.

More biblical speeches

If you want to look for coincidences using the history of the Jewish people and classical biblical figures, there is a lot to do. Here are some further examples.

In 1492, the massacres and expulsion of the Jews from Spain began. By then, 30 periods of 70 years had passed since God gave Babylon the first 70 years of rule over its neighbors. Every year, on the Jewish Fast and Mourning Day, these and other historical catastrophes of the Jewish people are commemorated. From 1492, there are seven times 70 years until 1982 and the great Babylon.

Numbers seven and 70 are two recurring prophetic numbers in the Book of Daniel and elsewhere. Seven times (2520 years) after Nebuchadnezzar finally desecrates the temple and takes the Jewish people into captivity, Hitler takes power in Germany. The first concentration camp for Jews is established at Dachau. In 1933, a new dictator with delusions of grandeur completes the Jewish tragedy.

In 1982, the world hands over power to a resurrected Babylon for 70 years. But once again it will fall to the cheers of angels. The last time the Jews were free to return to their land, released from Babylonian captivity. That was in 538 BC, when seven times 70 years had passed since the initial events of 1028 BC, and when seven times remained until 1982.

Israel's wilderness wanderings lasted 40 years. By 2052, 77 'wilderness wanderings' - periods of 40 years - have passed since God chose David to be king and ancestor of Jesus. Or 7 *666 years since God's decision on the flood until 2052. The numbers seem to speak for themselves.
