Adam and Eve are again naked before each other. Like Joseph and Mary, they hand over the child in truth and love (white and red). That child will give the world a new hope, and will be called the second Adam, the Hebrew root word Adam can be translated as man. Adam is given a second chance through the Son of God. His crucifixion and ascension are indicated by the outstretched hands radiating the colors of the rainbow. The circle of eternity is his background. The bow of promise in the sky was once given to Noah after the flood as a sign from God. Hilma associates the rainbow with Christ and hope. He rises in the sky towards the communion chalice, which here faces the four directions of the earth. Jesus' promise was that he would be present in heaven whenever and wherever people celebrated his memory with bread and wine.
